Finding the Right Part & Compatibility
Finding the exact part for a classic or rare vehicle project can be tricky. At The Parts Shop, we’ve built tools to help you verify part numbers, check chassis fitment, and communicate directly with sellers before you buy—so you get the right component delivered the first time.
🔍 How to Search for Parts
- Search by Keyword or Part Number: Enter the manufacturer part number (OEM), aftermarket reference code, or specific item description in the search bar.
- Filter by Vehicle & Category: Refine your results by selecting your vehicle make, model series, production year, or specific component group (e.g., Engine, Bodywork, Trim, Electrical).
- Save Your Vehicle to Your Garage: Save your current project cars to your profile to quickly highlight listings that match your specific chassis code.
⚙️ Verifying Compatibility & Fitment
Because classic vehicles often have mid-year production changes, regional specs, or prior modifications, verifying fitment is critical.
- Check the Fitment Table: Review the seller's listing description for detailed compatibility lists, superseding part numbers, and chassis ranges.
- Inspect High-Res Photos: Compare the photo details—such as mounting points, plug configurations, stampings, and casting numbers—against your existing part.
- Cross-Reference OEM Numbers: Many classic parts were shared across different models or production runs. Double-check stamped manufacturer codes before ordering.
💬 Ask the Seller Before You Buy
If you're unsure whether a part will fit your specific vehicle year or trim level:
- Click Ask Seller a Question on the listing page.
- Request exact measurements, additional photos of stampings, or clarification on the donor vehicle's specs.
- Keep all communication within The Parts Shop messaging system so our support team has full context if an issue ever arises later.
🔒 Strictly On-Platform Transactions
For your security, all transactions must remain on The Parts Shop:
