Setting Up Your Account & Verification

Welcome to The Parts Shop! Whether you're sourcing rare parts for a project build or clearing out valuable spares from your workshop, setting up your account is fast, straightforward, and secure.

👤 Creating Your Account & Workshop

Getting started takes less than two minutes:

  1. Click Sign Up at the top of the page.
  2. Enter your email address and create a secure password (or sign in via single sign-on).
  3. Confirm your email address by clicking the verification link sent to your inbox.
  4. Set up your Workshop Name under your profile (this is your public identity on the platform, whether you're an individual enthusiast or a specialist restoration business).

🔐 Identity & Payment Verification

To protect our community from fraud and ensure seamless seller payouts, we verify buyer and seller accounts through secure automated checks.

For Buyers

  • Card Pre-Authorization: When placing an offer or making a purchase, your payment details are verified securely via our payment gateway.
  • Shipping Address Check: Your delivery address must match verified courier databases to ensure tracked parcels arrive without delay.

For Sellers (Payout Setup)

Before you can list items and receive funds into your bank account, you must complete quick payout verification:

  1. Go to Account Settings ➔ Payout Methods.
  2. Connect your bank account details (Sort Code and Account Number).
  3. Provide standard identity verification details (such as proof of address or ID) if prompted by our payment processing partner.
🔒 Privacy Guarantee: Your financial and identity verification details are securely processed using industry-standard encryption. The Parts Shop never stores raw bank credentials or sensitive ID documents on our servers.

🛠️ Setting Up Your Workshop Profile

Save time when hunting for components by adding your active vehicle builds to your Workshop Profile:

  • Save your vehicle's Make, Model, Series, and Production Year.
  • Store specific Chassis Codes or engine variants you are actively working on.
  • When browsing, look for the "Fits Your Workshop" badge on listings to quickly filter compatible classic parts.
